  • Overview

    We are seeking a Mid-level Systems Engineer (MFOM) to provide support to PMW 150 in San Diego, CA!

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, refine and communicate engineering strategy with Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) program leadership and external government agencies.
    • Maintain MFOM Engineering Strategy and associated test and evaluation (T&E), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and installation documents and schedules.
    • Capture and refine stakeholder requirements for the MFOM Program of Record (POR) following Acquisition Strategies and prescribed software development practices.
    • Integrate change requests into system designs and documentation.
    • Utilize Command and Control (C2) principles, concepts and methods for Information Technology (IT) systems (i.e. C2 Rapid Prototyping Continuum).
    • Integrate software into complex service oriented and virtualized baselines to meet program requirements.
    • Develop/maintain/modernize software to support the software development processes C2 applications, in accordance with current software development methodologies.
    • Deploy maintenance and safety software as required to report readiness to Navy leadership of fleet forces.
    • Knowledge of Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) and Casualty Reports (CASREPs) affecting readiness valuation.
    • Knowledge of networks and communication of ships forces during disconnected operations.
    • Model based Systems Engineering (MBSE) desired.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum five (5) years’ relevant work experience in the engineering/software development field.
    • Must have experience translating complex engineering principles to support decision-making by program leadership.
    • Thorough working knowledge of Navy engineering guidance documents, messages, and instructions (e.g., as promulgated by DON CIO, OPNAV, DoD and NAVNETWARCOM).
    • Must be familiar with the DoD acquisition life cycle and be capable of providing engineering input to acquisition documents as necessary (e.g., acquisition strategy, systems engineering plan).

    Certifications

    • CompTIA Security + certification.
    • 8570.01 Baseline Certifications requirement.
