  • Overview

    We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support a government client in San Diego, CA!

    Responsibilities

    • Attend all technical reviews for WAMS. 
    • Provide expert-level input and recommendations on security issues to PMW/A 170. 
    • Identify the necessary requirements to obtain National Security Agency (NSA) approval of the End Cryptographic Units (ECUs) used by the WAM. 
    • Identify risk areas and methods of mitigation. 
    • Ensure all input and recommendations are coordinated with program management.
    • Develop a Key and Certificate Management Plan (KCMP) and coordinate KCMP approval with the NSA. 
    • Coordinate with PMW 130, DISA, or any other external stakeholder, as required, for any Transmission Security (TRANSEC) issues impacting the WAM Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) capability, to advance the program. 
    • Provide a summary report of all coordination efforts.
    • Attend all technical reviews for Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES), to include the Mission Management System (MMS), Key Management System (KMS), and Joint Hub development. 
    • Provide expert input and recommendations on security issues impacting Navy WAM efforts to PMW/A 170. 
    • Provide Navy recommendations and input on PTES design and implementation areas that impact the Navy WAM. 
    • Identify risk areas and methods of mitigation. 
    • Ensure all input and recommendations are coordinated with program management.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity or a related technical field.
    • Must have five (5) or more years of IA/cybersecurity experience, with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience specific to Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and/or Risk Management Framework (RMF).
    • Advanced knowledge of DoD 8510.01 and the Department of Navy DIACAP Handbook and experience developing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation.
    • Knowledge of DoD 8500 Series Policies (DoDD 8500.1, DoDI 8500.2, DoD 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01 (DIACAP and RMF)), CNSSI 4009, NIST SP 800-53 Security Control Catalog, CNSS 1253, CNSSI 1253, and NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-53.
    • ACAS, VRAM, HBSS and WSUS familiarity.
