The Team:

As a member of Sentek Global’s NS02 team, your main objective is to support the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Program Office in delivering cutting edge tactical networking capability to US and Coalition warfighters. Our success is in providing expertise and support in the development, acquisition, delivery, installation support, and sustainment of Advanced Tactical Data Link (ATDL) products and services in support of Navy, joint, allied and coalition forces worldwide.


Our team supports the MIDS product lines, consisting of the MIDS-Low Volume Terminal (MIDS-LVT) and MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS), to deliver this capability. Our team provides support in Acquisition and Program Management, Configuration and Data Management, Engineering, Test and Evaluation, Logistics, Cybersecurity/Information Assurance, and Risk and Opportunity Management support services for the program office, its products, and related items and processes.


Outside of the office, our MIDS team holds quarterly team lunches and events. As a Joint Program Executive Office (JPEO), our team also has a monthly “Relax after Work” social event where government personnel, military personnel, and contractors attend together. These include pick-up soccer games, happy hours, and more!

The Role:

Reporting to the NS02 Program Manager, the Sr. Software Systems Engineer will support the MIDS JTRS Software IPT in reviewing technical documents and observing industry software tests. You will help guide software development efforts for operationally deployed and sustained Software Defined Radio (SDR). Software being sustained is a Advanced Tactical Data Link (ATDL) in use across DoD and with International partners.


What You'll Do:

  • Provide SW engineering support directly to the MIDS JTRS SW Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead.
  • Perform requirements analysis and review of Allocated/Functional/Product Baseline specifications
  • Perform analysis/review of MIDS JTRS software test plans and reports.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to review and provide technical comments on the program’s baseline specifications and interface documents.
  • Process concurrent tasks and work with team members to accomplish larger or complex tasks.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by IPT Lead.
  • Bid and Proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. 
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Government Software Engineering or combined five years’ experience in two or more of the following areas:
    • Government Software Engineering.
    • Tactical Data Link or similar data link technology.
    • Definition, specification and design of complex communication software.
    • Software Design Review.
    • Multifunctional Information Distribution System architecture and software engineering.
    • Object oriented software development.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or other related technical discipline.
  • Understanding of Tactical Data links and their employment in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) strategic objectives.

  • Understanding of embedded systems and Software Defined Radios (SDRs).

  • Demonstrated ability to understand Systems Engineering principles and execution to include Requirements Development, Requirements Traceability, Requirements Management, Verification & Validation of software intensive systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) reviews, technical reviews, meetings and effectively communicate orally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence in accordance with contractual guidelines.

  • Per our contractual agreement with the U.S. Government, a full-time employee “FTE” is required to work 1920 hours in the calendar year.
